Founder of Danceology | Dance Educator | Examiner | Inclusive Arts Advocate
Belinda Chattin is a passionate and accomplished dance educator with over two decades of experience. She is dedicated to creating inclusive, high quality dance opportunities that inspire confidence, creativity, and community.
Belinda began dancing at the age of five and was teaching her own classes by 14. She trained extensively in RAD Ballet and CSTD Tap, Jazz, and Theatrical, and has taught at a range of respected studios throughout Brisbane.
In 2000, at just 21 years old, she founded Dance Pointe in Brisbane, which she led for 12 successful years. Her students consistently achieved outstanding results in APDA examinations—some earning the highest overall scores across the Asia Pacific region—and won numerous awards at eisteddfods. Many of her former students have gone on to full-time professional training and even opened their own dance studios.
In 2014, Belinda was appointed an examiner with the Asia Pacific Dance Association. She continues in this role today, examining Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre across Australia and New Zealand.
In 2019, Belinda established Danceology, a dynamic and inclusive studio based on the Gold Coast. The studio continues to thrive, offering a wide range of programs for dancers of all ages and abilities, including Danceability and Cheerability. Under her leadership, students have achieved top-tier results in APDA exams, won national titles, and in 2024, proudly represented Australia at the World Championships in the United States.
Belinda has also expanded into the All Star competitive scene, coaching teams across all styles and launching the Gold Coast’s first Cheerability team in 2024. That same year, she began judging for major All Star event providers—a role she finds both exciting and fulfilling.
A strong advocate for inclusive education, Belinda is certified in Rhythm Works Integrative Dance and has completed Performability training on the Gold Coast. She has facilitated numerous inclusive holiday programs in collaboration with therapy-based services and is deeply committed to creating adaptive learning environments where every dancer can succeed.
Belinda is also a certified Rainbow Yoga instructor and has taught children’s yoga throughout the Gold Coast. She holds additional certifications in Chair Yoga and Dance for Parkinson’s, expanding her ability to support students with diverse physical needs. She believes yoga and movement are powerful tools for emotional wellbeing, mindfulness, and physical development—especially for individuals with additional needs or mobility challenges.
In 2025, Belinda was proudly appointed Queensland Coordinator for Special Olympics Australia, furthering her mission to ensure that dance is accessible, empowering, and inclusive for all.
